Sited at the southern edge of the University’s campus, International Village is a mixed-use complex that integrates the campus across the subway tracks and the surrounding neighborhoods. The project marks the main path to the Ruggles Street subway station and reinforces the urban axes of Ruggles and Forsyth Streets. Its 450,000-sf program is organized in four buildings around a central elevated courtyard space. It includes 1200 beds for Northeastern’s undergraduate students, seminar and classrooms, a cybercafé, campus-wide dining facilities, fitness and billiard rooms, and study spaces. The complex also houses offices for NEU faculty and administrative staff, the Stony Brook initiative, and retail tenants on the ground floor. There is an open raised planted courtyard for the residents on the rooftop of the dining facility at the center of the building’s massing. International Village is LEED Gold certified.
